*** COVID-19 UPDATES ***

The NCPOA Board of Directors has voted to postpone our annual election of officers for the year 2020-2021, and follow our By-Laws that direct us to continue with the NOW elected Officers until an election to replace them can be held.

This is a very difficult time for all of us, each with personal goals, intentions, plans, and yes, hardships because of the social distancing and restrictions on our normal activities and behaviors. We miss the camaraderie and friendship that meeting with each of you at our meetings brings to us each month. In our own ways, each of you are thought of often and wished good health and safety until we meet again.

Because of circumstances, our future meetings must be postponed until it is safe to gather Notice will be sent as soon as we can meet again.
NCPOA Scholarship Update

After consideration of our current COVID-19 limitations, The Board of Directors of the Northern California Peace Officers Scholarship Fund has decided that it will not be possible to administer the annual scholarship program in 2020-2021.

Future uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic make it hard to manage the logistics that are required to conduct our candidate selection process. One of the most important elements of our selection process requires a face to face interview with prospective candidates. Current
limitations will not allow that, and other options would not result in an opportunity for our candidates to present themselves in an environment common to all.

Our Board is disappointed that the annual tradition of awarding scholarships to students at CSUS, who are our future Criminal Justice leaders, will have to be deferred until next year.

The Northern California Peace Officers Association (NCPOA) was founded in 1934 by leaders in the law enforcement community throughout the Sacramento area.  With active participation from law enforcement agencies in the counties of Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Nevada, Sacramento and Yolo. The NCPOA and the NCPOA Scholarship Fund is a registered not for profit organization.

NCPOA has approximately 300 active members representing both active and retired public safety personnel from Federal, State, County and Local public safety  agencies.  Associate members are also welcome to join and participate in NCPOA.

The primary purpose of NCPOA is to provide scholarships for members of the junior  and senior class enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at California State University, Sacramento.

We are always looking for new members, so look over our new website and Facebook page for more information about the NCPOA. If you want to join, submit an application and join us at one of our upcoming luncheons.
