The Northern California Peace Officers Association (NCPOA) was founded in 1934 by leaders in law enforcement community throughout the Sacramento area. With active participation from law enforcement agencies in the counties of Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo, the NCPOA is a registered not for profit social and philanthropic organization.
NCPOA has approximately 400 active members representing both active and retired public safety personnel from Federal, State, County and Local public safety agencies. Associate members are also welcome to join and participate in NCPOA.
The primary philanthropic purpose of NCPOA is to provide scholarships for members of the junior and senior class enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at California State University , Sacramento. These scholarships are currently budgeted at $1,000 and the NCPOA presents three to five scholarships per year.
As a social organization, NCPOA in co-operation with the host agencies, conducts ten monthly luncheons each year at venues throughout the Sacramento region. These luncheons generally attract over 100 participants depending on the location. Uniformed personnel and guest of members are always welcome to attend. A spirited raffle of attractive gifts and mementos is always a high point of the event.
